GEOGRAPHIC FOCUS

Where We Work

An area-based Somalia programme orientation guided by climate risks, community needs, access and partnerships.

Geographic Focus

CMA’s Somalia programme orientation covers Hirshabelle State, South West State, Banadir Region and Somaliland. Its head office is at Taleh, Hodan District, Mogadishu, Somalia. Field engagement is organized according to programme needs, access, partnerships and applicable coordination requirements.

Priority Community Contexts

  • Drought-prone pastoral and agro-pastoral areas facing water and livelihood stress.
  • Flood-prone riverine communities exposed to recurring displacement and infrastructure loss.
  • Urban and peri-urban settlements hosting internally displaced people and returnees.
  • Coastal and environmentally stressed areas where ecosystems support livelihoods.
  • Mobility corridors, return and reintegration locations, and vulnerable host communities.

How CMA Works Across Locations

CMA follows an area-based approach. Programmes are adapted to each location’s climate hazards, mobility patterns, market systems, social dynamics and access conditions rather than applying a uniform intervention everywhere. Community priorities and coordination with relevant government, humanitarian and development structures inform intervention design and delivery.
